Kathleen P Byrnes
- Partial knee replacement
“On April 1, 2015 I underwent a partial knee replacement on my right knee. The following day I was released from the hospital and went home. Within one week I was up and about and almost back to normal. By Mother's Day I was off to Colorado to visit my daughter and in July I went off to Ireland with all of my family, my husband, my three children and their spouses and my five grandchildren. I felt like a brand new person. Thank God for caring and skilled doctors such as Dr. David Lent and all the members of Southern Westchester Orthopedics & Sports Medicine.”
- partial knee replacement
“I am so very grateful to Dr.Lent! I had suffered far too many years, and underwent 2 knee surgeries elsewhere before finally taking the plunge. When I met Dr. Lent, he explained everything in great detail and was very professional. My end result says it all...I am back to my old self and doing all the things I was un too much pain to do before. Thank you so much to Dr. Lent for giving me my life back!!”
Anthony Del Priore
“I had makoplasty done to my knee and a few hours after getting out of recovery. I was walking laps around the hospital floor with my walker. I was in less pain after a week of recovery than before the surgery. I was back to work two weeks after surgery ,walking and doing all the things I did before. Dr Lent did a great job and my leg is now straight and I walk without pain and no more back pain also. His staff and Dobbs Ferry Hospital took care of everything I needed and after care and I had a great recovery. Thanks”
- right knee replacement
“Feb 2 2016 I went in for a total right knee replacement. I was up and walking slowly the next day & was released the following day. Dr. Lent is a pleasure and a concerned Doctor The staff at Dobbs Ferry / St. Johns hospital are just fantastic , concerned about your comfort and pain management. If you need to have it done this is the Doctor & Place”
- 2 patella femoral makoplasty surgeries
“On 12/30/15 & 1/19/16 Dr. Lent and his team performed patella femoral makoplasty surgery on my knees. Though the recovery journey was a long one for me due to other issues I had, I can safely say that I am a card carrying member of Dr. Lent's cheer leading team! For the first time in YEARS I can walk without pain!!!! I really am a new woman. Thank you so much!
But seriously, if you are as plagued by serious osteoarthritis as I was, DO NOT delay in getting it treated, as it will worsen with time. Please make an appointment as this is the place to go if you want your life back!!!”
- right total hip replacement
“I had a right total hip replacement on March 29th....4 months later I have my life back...pain free. I can dance, exercise, walk miles, walk in the sand.
Dr.Lent is an incredible Surgeon. I had a speedy, uneventful recovery. The care and attention that me and my family received at the Westchester Orthopedic Center was far better than the care and outcome I received for my left hip....at a prominent surgical center in Manhatten.”
- ACL Repair
“On August 29th, 2016 I tore my ACL in my left knee. I was referred to Dr. Lent by a retired nurse who stated that "Dr. Lent will make you whole again, for sure." And boy, was she not kidding.
After the MRI of my knee I waited about a week for the results. Being an athlete my entire life and never sustaining a knee injury of any kind I was certain that it was just a bad sprain. When I visited Dr. Lent for the 1st time, he very kindly and graciously informed me that my ACL was indeed, "completely torn." I panicked and entered into a state of shock and dismay. Dr. Lent's calm, jovial, humane demeanor kept me calm and mentally stable. I KNEW he was THE BEST because initially he did not want to perform the surgery on my knee due to my age-- he suggested "3 months of therapy, first" and told me that if what happened to me had happened to HIM, that he "would not opt for the surgery at first." Because my knee was literally "buckling apart" at this point and I could not fathom the thought of never body-boarding, motorcycling, hiking, swimming, jet-skiing, running or even walking again, I opted for the surgery, which was performed by the great Dr. Lent on September 23rd. The procedure was ambulatory and arthroscopic in nature and I was out of the hospital in a few hours. Today is December 1st and I have 85% mobility in my left knee, can walk up and down the stairs without pain or struggle and can even throw a front-kick with ease. Thanks to Dr. Lent and his amazing, in-house physical therapist, Mr. Patrick Evia I am practically back to my former self only better, stronger and soon to be, faster. *IF ANYONE READING THIS REQUIRES ANY KIND OF KNEE, LIGAMENT, TENDON, NECK or BACK SURGERY, THERAPY or even just a CONSULTATION, SEEK NO FURTHER AND REST EASY - DR. LENT WILL HEAL YOU AND MAKE YOUR LIFE EVEN BETTER THAN IT WAS BEFORE. ”
- fractured wrist
“The emergency room treatment at St. john's was quick, effective and very professionally provided. The medical treatment performed in the following days by Dr. Eric Spencer, including surgical insertion of support pins, was very helpful. Despite the damage to my wrist bones, I had little follow-up pain, was instructed in the best care including PT, and my wrist has recuperated quickly, much sooner than I would have predicted. Five stars! ”
